In 2023, I moved to Prague to pursue my master’s degree in psychology. I spent three years living, studying, and building a life abroad before moving to the Netherlands in 2026.
Living abroad has brought me both personal growth and a deeper understanding of what it means to navigate change, uncertainty, and new beginnings. These experiences have shaped me in meaningful ways and strengthened the compassion, openness, and curiosity I bring to my work.
I care deeply about creating a warm, grounded space where you can feel seen, supported, and understood as you navigate your own experiences and challenges.
Below, you will find more about my approach, qualifications, and the way I work.
Originally from the United States, I grew up in South Carolina before moving to Florida at 13. From a young age, helping others was a common thread in the things I imagined myself doing. The different jobs and careers I dreamed about growing up may have looked quite different, but they all shared the same underlying desire to support, care for, or make a difference in the lives of others. I also found myself naturally curious about people — fascinated by human behavior, the mind, and the experiences that shape who we become. While I didn’t always know exactly where that curiosity would lead me, over time it grew into a passion for psychology.
Hi, I’m Lexi Brinkley.
Living Abroad & Finding Your Place
Moving to a new country can be exciting, but it can also come with challenges that are not always easy to put into words. Adjusting to a different culture, building new relationships, finding a sense of belonging, and creating a life away from what is familiar can bring a mixture of excitement, loneliness, uncertainty, and growth.
Having lived abroad myself, I understand that the process of finding your footing in a new environment can be both rewarding and challenging. My own experience of moving from the United States to Prague, and later to the Netherlands, has given me personal insight into the transitions that can come with building a life somewhere new.
Whether you are adjusting to life abroad, questioning where you feel at home, or simply navigating a period of transition, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experience.
My Approach
I use an integrative approach that allows me to shape the work around each person’s needs, goals, and personal history. No two clients come in with the same story, so sessions are adapted to what feels most meaningful and supportive for that individual. This flexibility makes it possible to follow your pace, honor your experiences, and choose methods that truly fit who you are and what you’re working toward.
Person-Centered Approach
My work is grounded primarily in Person-Centered Therapy, which emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. I aim to meet each person with genuine presence and understanding, creating a therapeutic relationship that supports self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.
Acceptance & Commitment TherapY (ACT)
ACT supports you in developing a more open, flexible way of relating to your thoughts and emotions. We focus on staying present, easing internal tension, and choosing responses that strengthen your wellbeing.
