Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why therapy?
Therapy offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Many people seek therapy to better understand themselves, navigate life transitions, heal from past experiences, improve relationships, or develop coping strategies. My role is to walk alongside you as you gain clarity, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
2. What are the benefits of therapy and how can it help me?
Therapy can support you in many meaningful ways, depending on where you are in your life. It can help you understand your emotions more clearly, develop healthier coping skills, process difficult experiences, and create more balance in your daily routine. It also provides a dedicated, supportive space to talk openly, explore your identity, and strengthen your relationships, often leading to greater self-awareness, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Because everyday life can feel stressful or overwhelming, therapy offers a place to slow down and make sense of what you’re experiencing. It can help you understand why you react the way you do, what your triggers are, and how certain patterns may be affecting your relationships or sense of self.
This insight can be powerful in improving personal connections, building healthier habits, and supporting long-term growth. Therapy may bring comfort, hope, motivation, or relief, and it can inspire meaningful change or encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. At the same time, it’s normal for therapy to stir up difficult emotions as you explore challenging memories or experiences. Change can feel slow or frustrating at times, and no therapist can guarantee specific outcomes but for those who actively engage, therapy has been shown to offer many lasting benefits.
3. What is a typical session like and how long do they last?
Sessions last 50 minutes and are collaborative, gentle, and paced according to what feels comfortable for you. Whether the focus is always on your goals, your story, and what you want to explore that day.
4. How long will I need therapy?
Everyone’s process is different. Some clients come for a few months, others for a year or longer. We’ll regularly explore what feels most helpful for you.
5. Do you offer online sessions?
Yes — online sessions are available and especially convenient for clients with busy schedules.
6. How can I book an appointment or find out more?
You can schedule a session by emailing directly at (bloomwithbrinkley@gmail.com). I’ll respond with available times and answer any questions you may have. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, you’re welcome to reach out for more information first.
7. Is therapy a confidential space?
Absolutely. Everything shared in therapy remains confidential except in rare cases where safety is at risk (such as imminent harm to yourself or others). These exceptions will always be explained clearly. I adhere strictly to the highest ethical principles of European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA).
8. Are your sessions covered by insurance?
At this time, I do not accept insurance. I work independently from the statutory health system, and therefore my services are not covered by health insurance. Payment is made directly by the client.
9. What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your appointment. Sessions canceled after this window, or missed without notice, will be charged the full session fee.
10. Is there anything I need to prepare for the first session?
No preparation is needed. Just come as you are! Some clients like to jot down thoughts or moments they want to remember for a particular session, but it’s never a requirement.
